Community Service Project: Our chapter has adopted the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP)
Food Pantry and FHAR (Foster Homeless Adopted Resources).
In a study, Housing and Food Insecurity at the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP):
*33.5% of student participants ate less because they did not have enough money for food.
*25.4% of student participants didn’t eat because they do not have enough money for food.
*48.6% of student participants often and sometimes could not afford to eat balance meals.
Housing Insecurity encompasses a broad set of housing challenges, including the inability to pay rent or utilities, moving frequently, loss of housing or living in an apartment or house above capacity. 19.1% of UTEP student participants have experienced homelessness.
We will continue to support our students as they pursue their Dreams for the Future!
